Faux Red Brick Backsplash
How to Create a Faux Red Brick Backsplash on drywall! No sealing required!
1. Clean the area well with our surface prep deglosser (brush on, scrub with a green scouring pad and wipe clean).
2. Apply 1-2 coats of color CASHMERE as your base coat using Brush & Roll Technique. Allow each coat to dry 30-40 mins.
3. Pour each stain on a paper plate and randomly roll on stain to your mophead using 1 roller.
4. Apply stamp to the wall/backsplash in whatever the desired pattern in leaving space between to act as the brick mortar. You can typically get 2-3 stamps per application of stain.
5. After you get a full section, dry roll back over the brick stamps to blend them (optional but it gives it a realistic look). You'll want to do this while the stain is still damp.
6. Once the brick pattern is complete, allow the stain to thoroughly dry 2-3 hours.
7. Apply white wash to your mophead and restamp the bricks you desire a white washed affect on. Do as little or as much as you want.
8. While the white wash is still damp, dry roll over the stamps to blend. (optional)
No sealer required!
Herringbone pattern is optional. You could stagger mop stamps in a traditional brick pattern.
White Washing is also optional. You can stop at any point. You could even alternate and only white wash some bricks.
You can also use this finish to create an accent wall.
