The days of orange stained cabinets with burgundy countertops had to go! I wanted fresh and bright! When I started my kitchen redo I was still looking for the perfect paint. At that time I knew nothing about HTP. What I did know is I wanted a smooth finish-no brush marks, durability with a topcoat and something that would adhere to my 1960s stained cabinets.
Plus I always disliked the black groove in my cabinets, how to fix it? I will add 3 1/2 inch wood strips to cover it. It worked perfectly. Now what about the paint? My prayers have been answered, a friend told me about HTP. After researching it, it was everything I was looking for plus tutorials on how to do it like the professionals. I was so impressed I also did my countertops and table legs. What a transformation, I’m so happy with the outcome!
I deglossed with doors off, used a primer just to help knowing I would be using a white color of paint, added the wood strips and painted the cabinets with Cashmere. Updated hardware to satin nickel. Added a peel and stick backsplash. Countertop is Cashmere base with Stonehenge, Abbey, Colosseum and Cobblestone put on by hand with a natural sea sponge and finished with water resistant sealer. Changed wall color and added white mini blinds and new decor. Next project is replacing the flooring. Thank you Paula and HTP, love this paint! ????
