color choice

We are trying to lighten our dark kitchen cabinets. Colors are mostly neutral gray and creams, with splashes of color using curtains and accessories. Counters are soft white with veins of light gray and tan. I like oyster but seems too dark, Putty seems too light (ordered color swatches). I've searched all colors and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions on a color in between? has anyone used Putty. The color swatch seems much lighter than website.
