I have 80s laminate cabinets ( before photo). I used heirloom traditions all in one paint color polo for these cabinets. For prep I removed the doors and washed them with warm water and soap. I then used crud cutter deglosser followed by medium grit sandpaper to roughen up the surface. Did two coats of paint using brush and roll each time allowing each coat to dry for at least 48 hours.
When I was mounting these doors back up I noticed that anywhere a hinge touched hardware or another door or another piece of furniture both layers of paint chipped off completely.
Why is this happening and how can I prevent extensive damage?
