I Sanded the stand to bare wood because it had a dark color .I wanted to create a coastal look so I chose London and Manor house . The top of table is not wood , so I sprayed some laquer on it so paint would stick . I painted two coats of london on sides and top using brush and roll technique. I made a watery wash of Manor House and lightly using a small brush painted it on the bare wood and wiped it off with a terrycloth until I reached the light coastal color I wanted. I used my finger to spread some if the white wash . The backboard was taken off and I found some black and white wallpaper in my stash that I painted some color on the flowers and birds with some acrylic craft paints to pull together the colors. I reattached the backboard and changed the knobs to create sparkle.
