Outside window frames and doors

My home is 19 years old and had a redish stain and shiny varathane on all the doors and window frames. I have not really liked the colour since I moved in almost 6 years ago and just never found the right product to take on a job of this magnitude. I live in the desert of Baja California Sur Mexico where our temperatures reach over 100 during the late spring and summer. Hopefully it will cool off soon. Every year I have been re-varathaning the window frames and doors as the sun and heat are very hard on the finishes. Maintenance in BCS is ongoing.
