My father in law bought this hoosier from an auction many years ago. It was primed gray and ready to finish. He finished it white and then his wife later down the road painted it lime green and lemon yellow. The popular colors in the 70’s. They have since divorced and he has said many times he wishes she had never painted it. He has now been diagnosed with ALS so has been cleaning out his house. I loved the piece the first time I saw it 30 years ago. I told him I would love it and I promised to paint it it’s original color. I found htp and ordered a card and found the exact match in bone. Ordered the tools and only 1 quart of the color bone not knowing it would take 4-5 coats. I did get to the 4th coat and decided to order another quart of bone because in my eye I could still see the colors coming through. The last coat did it. Finished and my father in law saw pictures and just kept saying “well good” with a smile on his face. That’s a huge compliment from someone who doesn’t compliment. He wants to come visit when his sister is in town as he said she would be excited to see it in its original form. I can’t be happier with HTP and how it made it so easy to paint taking the hoosier back to its original look.

Antique Hoosier done in htp paint Bone. Perfection restored.

Lime green and lemon yellow, painted in the 70s.

Bone was the perfect match to a piece that was unpainted from the rolling door.

A beauty in progress. I could see the potential as soon as I had a couple of coats on. Loving it all over again.
