How do I start

I am all new here! Want to paint my dining table with the Weathervane all-in-one. Want that smooth surface suitable for use on dining table! I have a sample - where do I start? What/how do I prep the table (its real wood and has a glossy/seal or something on it). Also - what brushes/tools do I need for the entire job? Looking to make this as easy as possible - I am all about 1-stop shopping! I am a bit overwhelmed with all of the various recos and instructions - help!
