Goodbye, Honey Oak!

My house is a manufactured home, and the dreaded honey oak was EVERYWHERE! I was so tired of the orange glow of these cabinets. I would love to have white cabinets, but I tried Colosseum in a small bathroom and realized it would take three coats. I hate painting, so I couldn't imagine putting three coats on every one of these cabinets. I didn't want to go quite as dark as Cobblestone because my goal was to lighten the kitchen. I compromised with a mixture of 1 part Colosseum to 3 parts Cobblestone. It covered perfectly in just two coats, and it was exactly the color I wanted. The refrigerator and range hood were painted with three coats of Weathervane. The cabinets were painted in 2019, and we were finally able to update the flooring recently, so the after photo was only taken a few weeks ago (October 2022). I used two of the small rollers ordered from HTP and a small artist brush (Walmart craft section) just to get tight places. I sort of stippled with the roller as I worked. Only the doors of my cabinets are wood. The cabinets themselves are that pressboard with papery stuff over it. This paint works perfectly on that material. I've now painted every bit of trim, doorways, and window sills in the house with Cobblestone, and I'm about to finish the last few doors. It's been a 3-year process to rid myself of all the honey oak in the entire house, but it brightens everything up so much!
