Help!! Paint or stain??

Getting new counters and subway tile back splash. Question is the cabinets are quality custom but such an outdated shade. Stain or paint?? Been looking at both options on here!! Ceiling is being stripped and new can lighting going in as well. Floors last so I don’t have to worry about stains.
