Original garage door was an all white. I loved the idea of a wooden door but in the Florida weather those don’t exist. I was inspired to create my own with paint to make it look just like real wood. I took the multi layered approach to really bring in an antique dimensional look. My first layer I used Naples followed by Stonehenge and brushed back parts of the color with a large stiff broom. I used the same technique with espresso wood stain. I then used selective strokes of Abbey and Truffle to allow them to blend well on top of the base color giving the garage door that dimensional look of wood. The last color, Iron Gate, was selected later to add one extra aged dimension. I also used Iron Gate to paint the trim of the window and inside wood frame to bring it all together. The very last step was sealing it with a clear coat to help protect it against the heavy rains. I love how the door turned out!! And even after a year it’s holding up strong.
