This bookcase is my first project to familiarize myself with the paint and see what it could do. It's just cheap particle board with laminate. Since the books will cover the rough spots I wasn't concerned with them. I think that even though that couldn't be helped, painting it made it look way less cheap. I only used 1/2 of an 8 oz sample for two coats and it completely covered the dark brown color it originally was. I was extremely pleased with the way it turned out!
