Shower Magic

It's been 10 years since I last worked on our upstairs bathroom. We removed wainscoting, the vanity/sink, and medicine cabinet. I did not want to tear out the shower and tub so I opted to get a Shower Bundle from All-In-One Paint and get to work. There were a lot of curves and shelves to maneuver. I used the brush and roll method. First the prep coat, then 3 coats of paint [I used Cashmere as our tub and shower were very yellow], then 3 coats of sealer. I used matte finish sealer. This took a while to do but the results were amazing!

The end result. I had started the bathroom project the end of August. It took until mid October to get the shower painted the way I wanted. I still have some detail painting to do but not the shower.

Shows how much brighter the shower/tub is now.

Taped it off to get coats of paint.

I was afraid to use command strips on the finished sealant, but these were small enough that when I did pull it off, no paint came with it.

It says not to let water pool on the sealed surface if you can help it. I do put shampoo bottles on the tub surface. This black bottle has a really flat surface and the water stayed under it and did not dry. The paint did bubble, but when I removed the bottle and placed it elsewhere, the bubbles disappeared!

The curved bottom bottles hold less water underneath. I just wipe the bottom with a towel and set it back in the tub.

Like I wrote earlier...the paint/seal did bubble, but when I did not set anything down again and used a towel to wipe, the bubbles disappeared. The water still pools around the drain but we just mop it up after using the shower.
